Tania Hangula as Chair of DBN Board
Tania Hangula, an entrepreneur, joins a line of business women who previously served on the Board of DBN in a quest to make notable contributions towards the economic transformation of Namibia.
Hangula, with extensive administration experience in the public sector, is currently the Executive Director for Business Development at Arandis Mining Services. She played a significant role in transforming the company from a family owned business to a mainstream company. She is also a managing member of Umoja Trading Enterprises, which is a company with interest in the Namibian petroleum industry and other business sectors.
Talking about her appointment as Chairperson of DBN, Hangula says, “My aspirations are to promote the values of good corporate governance, and to make a valuable contribution towards the socio-economic development of this country.”
On professionalism, she described her personal approach by saying, “I am committed to the virtues of fairness and integrity, and I believe that teamwork is important if you want to reach positive results.” She further stated, “I believe that DBN can play a very crucial role in improving the quality of lives of our citizens, thus my pledge towards the realization of our national priorities.”
Hangula currently holds a National Diploma in Commerce from the Polytechnic of Namibia and a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Cape Town. She also completed the Women in Leadership Program at the University of Cape Town, the Management Development Program at the University of Stellenbosch, as well as the Director Development Program at the Institute of Directors (IoD) in South Africa.
