SENIOR CREDIT ANALYST

Reporting to the Head: Credit Risk, the Senior Credit Analyst is required to implement the guidelines of the Bank’s Credit and Equity Investment Policy and conduct credit risk assessments, in order to ensure legal compliance and effectively mitigate any potential risk for the Bank.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

§  Implement and adhere to the Bank’s credit & equity investment policies and procedures.

§  Conduct credit risk assessments and make recommendations in respect to granting or declining a loan.

§  Verify term sheets and loan agreements and adviseand support the Lending Department and clients with the structuring of credit solutions.

§  Verify the accuracy and validity of guarantees provided to the Bank and that of disbursement requests and recommend for approval to the Head: Credit Risk.

§  Monitor existing accounts by considering progress reports on all active accounts, conducting site visits, monitoring repayments and reviewing the status of the different loan categories, reviewing risk ratings and interest rates on a regular basis, and updating the SAP system accordingly.

§  Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and loan appraisal reports to decision-making committees.

§  Assist in various administrative tasks of the Credit Department.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

§  A Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Credit or Finance.

§  Minimum of 5 years’ banking experience with exposure to credit and risk management, credit analysis and or securities.

§  Excellent analytical ability and understanding of credit applications and associated risk.

§  In-depth knowledge of financial projects/loans analysis. Excellent communications skills.Strong customer service and problem resolution skills. Ability to work in teams.

§  Ability to work under pressure. Computer literacy in MS Office Package.
